Dear Ausable Residents,

We are excited to share an important update about the revitalization efforts in our beloved Hamlet of Keeseville! As part of the NY Forward program, a key initiative to breathe new life into smaller communities like ours, we invite you to the third Local Planning Committee (LPC) meeting on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Ausable Town Hall, 111 Ausable Street, Keeseville. This meeting is open to the public, and we encourage you to attend and share your thoughts during the public comment session at the end.

What is NY Forward?

NY Forward is a transformative program designed to support the revitalization of smaller, walkable communities with unique historic charm, like Keeseville. Working hand-in-hand with the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), NY Forward focuses on fostering economic growth and community development in less dense areas that serve local residents and surrounding rural regions. Governor Kathy Hochul has committed $100 million to the third round of NY Forward, and we’re thrilled that Keeseville, alongside Gouverneur, was selected by the North Country Regional Economic Development Council to receive $4.5 million to enhance our community!

Why This Matters for Keeseville

This funding presents a tremendous opportunity to strengthen Keeseville’s vibrant character, improve local infrastructure, and support projects that will benefit our residents, businesses, and visitors for years to come. The NY Forward program, led by the Department of State in partnership with Empire State Development, NY Homes and Community Renewal, and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, is guided by a consultant team from M.J. Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Land Surveying, P.C., with support from Andropogon, E.M. Pemrick & Company, and Captain Consulting.
