Exciting News: The Ice Skating Rink is Coming Back!
Dear Town of Ausable residents,
We’ve heard you loud and clear — our community ice skating rink has been sorely missed, and we’re thrilled to let you know that we’re bringing it back this winter!
Thanks to some advance planning (and a little holiday-season magic), we already have the liner in house and every department — Highway, Water/Wastewater, and Parks — is geared up and ready to help make this happen as soon as conditions allow.
The only thing holding us up right now is the current water conservation notice in the Keeseville water district. We know everyone is doing their part to conserve, and we appreciate your efforts more than you know. As soon as that restriction is lifted and Mother Nature gives us consistently cold temperatures, our crews will be out there flooding and growing ice just like the good old days.

We can’t wait to see:
- Kids racing around with rosy cheeks
- Pickup hockey games breaking out at all hours
- Families enjoying free, old-fashioned winter fun right here at home
This rink has always been more than just a sheet of ice; it’s where memories are made, neighbors catch up, and our North Country winters feel a little warmer.
Stay tuned for updates — we’ll post the official “open” date on the Town website, Facebook, and at the Town Hall as soon as the ice is ready.
Thank you for your patience while we work through the water situation. Your understanding means the world to us, and we promise the wait will be worth it.
Here’s to hot cocoa, cold nights, and the return of our rink!
Warmly,
-Tim
P.S. Start digging out those skates — winter fun is almost here!
