Why America’s 250th Anniversary Matters
In 1776, our nation was founded on the revolutionary idea that all people are created equal and endowed with the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The 250th anniversary offers us a meaningful opportunity to:
- Reflect on the journey of our country over the past two and a half centuries
- Honor the sacrifices and achievements of past generations
- Reaffirm our commitment to the principles of freedom, democracy, and unity
- Pass on these cherished values to our children and grandchildren
These local events provide the perfect way to celebrate together as neighbors, strengthening the bonds within our North Country communities while honoring the broader story of America.
How to Get Involved
- Join the Parade: Scan the QR code on the parade flyer (or visit www.chesterfieldny.gov) to sign up and participate. Everyone is welcome — whether marching with a group, bringing a float, walking with family, or simply cheering along the route.
- Attend the Week’s Events: Many activities are free and family-friendly. Mark your calendars and join in as many as you can!
- Spread the Word: Invite friends and family to come celebrate with us.
After the parade on July 26, head to JC Park for an afternoon of food, crafts, entertainment, and good company. It’s going to be a wonderful day for the whole family.
Let’s Come Together as a Community
The Town of Ausable is proud to be part of this historic celebration. By participating in these events, we not only honor America’s 250 years but also show the strength and spirit of our local communities.
We hope to see many of you out enjoying the week’s activities and especially at the big parade and festivities on July 26!
