Spring Updates from the Keeseville Free Library: April 2025 Events and More!

Spring has sprung, and the Keeseville Free Library is buzzing with exciting events, resources, and opportunities for our community! As we embrace the season of renewal, we’re thrilled to share the latest updates from our library’s April 2025 newsletter (Issue 4). Whether you’re a book lover, a gardener, a music enthusiast, or someone looking to learn a new skill, there’s something for everyone at the library this month. Let’s dive into the highlights!

A Note from Our Director, Robyn

Save the date for a special event: a Calcutta Night fundraiser on Saturday, May 31st at the Elks Club in Keeseville. For just $50, your ticket includes dinner for two and a chance to win a grand prize of $1400! There are also many smaller prizes that will be given out throughout the evening. This event is a fun way to support your library as we look forward to a vibrant spring. Tickets are available at the library, so stop by to grab yours soon!

Free Seeds Library: Grow Your Garden

Spring is the perfect time to start a garden, and the Free Seeds Library is here to help! If you have a garden and need seeds, or if you’re new to gardening, they’ve got you covered. They have an abundance of flower and vegetable seeds for you to pick up and plant. While you’re there, feel free to browse their gardening book collection for inspiration. Happy planting, and let’s make our community bloom!

Music in the Library with Sarah Mitchell

Mark your calendars for April 10th at 6 p.m. for a special musical evening with Sarah Mitchell, a talented singer-songwriter from the North Country. Sarah will be performing a mix of rock, pop, and country cover hits, as well as some of her own original music. This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy live music right here in the library—don’t miss it!

Artisan of the Month: Jennifer Patnode

This month, they’re featuring the incredible work of Keeseville artist Jennifer Patnode. Jennifer creates stunning fused glass pieces, from blown glass to stained glass, as well as unique items like cut, layered, and melted glass in a high-temperature kiln. Her jewelry, sun catchers, and pocket hearts will be on display at the library all month. Plus, Jennifer will be hosting a fused glass art jewelry workshop on April 24th—stay tuned for more details on how to register!

Library Resource Restroom: Free Essentials for All

Did you know they have a Library Resource Restroom stocked with essentials like deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, and other self-care products? These items are free of charge to whoever needs them. They’re committed to supporting our community, and we’re all grateful for the donations that keep this resource available. Stop by if you need a little help—they’re here for you.

Children’s Story Hour
