A Fond Farewell to the Youth Basketball Season
Dear Ausable Residents,
As March winds down and spring peeks around the corner, it’s time to say goodbye to another exciting youth basketball season. This past weekend marked the end of a season filled with energy, teamwork, and unforgettable moments for our young athletes. It’s been a joy to watch our kids dribble, shoot, and grow—both on and off the court.
One of the standout highlights this year was the long-awaited reopening of the Civic Center Gym for Saturday games. After months of anticipation, seeing the gym come alive again with the sound of sneakers squeaking and cheers echoing was nothing short of magical. The gym didn’t just host games—it became a gathering place where families, friends, and neighbors came together to support our youth. The reopening reminded us all of the strength and spirit of our tight-knit community.
This season, our kids showed us what they’re made of. From nail-biting buzzer-beaters to the quiet victories of sportsmanship and perseverance, they gave us plenty to cheer about. Coaches, volunteers, and parents deserve a huge round of applause too—your dedication kept the season running smoothly and made sure every player felt like a star.
As we close this chapter, let’s carry the momentum forward. The end of basketball season isn’t goodbye—it’s a “see you later” until next year, or until the next open gym session (calendar is available HERE). In the meantime, let’s keep encouraging our youth to stay active, try new things, and continue making Ausable proud.
Thank you to everyone who made this season a success. Whether you coached, refereed, brought snacks, or simply cheered from the sidelines, you helped make it a memorable one. Here’s to the kids, the community, and the Civic Center Gym—may it host many more seasons of laughter and triumph.
Until next tip-off,
-Tim
